Modern Finance invites researchers, practitioners, and policymakers worldwide to contribute to a special issue on Financial Transformations in Africa: Challenges, Opportunities, and Innovations. This special issue aims to explore the dynamic financial landscape of Africa, showcasing innovative solutions, addressing pressing challenges, and uncovering opportunities that finance offers in driving the continent’s socioeconomic transformation.

Themes of Interest:

  • Financial Inclusion and Digital Finance: Expanding access to banking and financial services, the role of mobile money, and FinTech solutions in transforming financial inclusion.
  • Sustainable and Climate Finance: Financing renewable energy and climate resilience projects, as well as developing green bonds and ESG frameworks.
  • Regional Integration and Trade Finance: Financial mechanisms enabling the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) and challenges in cross-border trade finance.
  • Sovereign and Development Financing: Debt sustainability, innovative public project financing, and the role of international partnerships.
  • Entrepreneurship and Private Sector Development: Venture capital, private equity trends, and the impact of diaspora remittances and microfinance.
  • Technological Disruption in Finance: Blockchain, AI, and big data applications in African financial markets, along with addressing cybersecurity.
